Install before you fly. Activate with care.
Installing an eSIM and starting its data validity are not always the same event.
Before departure
Verify compatibility, read the exact plan’s activation rule and save its instructions somewhere accessible offline. Install using a reliable internet connection if the seller permits advance installation. Keep your home SIM’s settings and roaming charges in mind.
Watch the start rule
A plan may start on first connection to a supported destination network, on installation, or after an activation deadline. Our plan details show a source-provided start rule when available. Follow the seller’s purchase confirmation where it differs.
After arrival
- Enable the travel line and select it for cellular data.
- Enable data roaming on the travel line only if its instructions require it.
- Disable unwanted roaming or automatic cellular-data switching on your home line.
- Allow a few minutes for connection. Follow the provider’s APN instructions if required.
If it does not connect
Check that the plan has started, data remains, the destination is included and the correct SIM is selected. Try the provider’s troubleshooting steps before deleting the profile. Some eSIMs cannot be reinstalled after removal.
